I've officially decided that essays are lame. My English teacher made us right a "mini" research paper on how the Red Scare/Red Hunt inspired Arthur Miller to write the Crucible. Writing the actual essay was easy enough since it only had to be one page, but it was hard explaining such a large topic in one page. I ended up narrowing it down to just "blacklisting." I spent a little over half an hour typing it up, and then my computer shut down. I turned it back on at least an hour later and had to retype the last paragraph. Redoing essays is not fun at all! It's really kind of annoying, actually. I only had to redo one paragraph and got irritated! I'm gonna have to deal with it though, especially if I want to stay in the top 10% of my school's junior class. The top 10% are the most likely people to get scholarships. Trust me, I need them.

I'm honestly surprised that I rank so high though. I thought I'd be like number 120, but instead I'm ranked number 71. That's out of 831 students! I thought the C that I got at the end of the second semester during sophomore English would ruin my grade. Of course, that was because I didn't write an essay. I've learned my lesson though.
